Technology is the great equalizer.
In the 80s and 90s, the personal computer revolution promised efficiency for those proficient in computing…until everyone had a PC on their desk and all people and businesses became efficient.
Today, AI promises huge efficiency to those who learn how to use it. With models becoming stronger and stronger at UX, efficiency soon will be available to everyone.
If everyone is efficient, no one is efficient.
How then, in this world of moats and competitive advantages, do businesses and people stand apart?
Soft Skills are the answer.
Soft Skills play a critical role in every part of a business:
Sales: The more empathetic and caring a sales person is, the stronger their earnings.
Engineering: The senior engineer who can empathize with the trainee will create a culture of learning and understanding.
Product: The PM who feels the customer painpoints deeply will work harder to create lasting and elegant solutions.
Technology enables us, empathy transforms us.#
